Let's Catch Up......In Pictures

Let me dust off this old blog here and try to get my mojo back. Man have we been busy partying, hanging out and hosting relatives recently,  so lets catch up shall we ?

That Cigar & Remy V kicking in !

Any cigar sponsored event that Mr. Mixologist finds out about will most definitely be attended. I have learned to just go with it and have actually had some fun along the way. We invited TiffanyinHouston & her hubby to come along & let me just say that Remy V is NOT my friend. LOL They were one of the sponsors for this event, so this cocktail was offered free and I am not one to turn down free liquor didn't want to be rude. Anytime you take a brown liquor and somehow "make" it white is a #fail. I had the hangover from HELL.

My love, loves his sticks !
I think a man puffing on a Cigar is so sexy ! Now it could be just because he has my nose wide open that I think this way, but I'm just saying......

Mud Bugs, Shrimp & Crab Legs !

Good news: One of my girlfriends had her Birthday Party at Blue Water Seafood and the crawfish was awesome ! They were so big & juicy.
Bad News: This place just happens to be so close to my house I have been stopping by every week since then to get my crawfish fix.

Love these pink Azaleas he planted just for me
We spent Easter morning finishing up the final touches of Mr. Mixologist's beautiful landscaping project.
Correction: I supplied the cold drinks and proper encouragement & cheer leading. He did ALL the work. LOL

I love to see the joy in his eyes when his family comes to visit us in Texas. His brother came on Thursday so I let the guys hang out the first night. His wife flew in the next morning and we all hit it hard. They made a special trip to Houston to celebrate our engagement with us since they missed our party :) The last time we were in Atlanta they made sure we had a great time.  We had so much fun hanging out with these two :)  They are from ATL which is a great social city. We wanted to make sure they really enjoyed Houston.

It's always Happy Hour somewhere !

We were having fun like tourists in our own city. LOL !  We took them to ALL our favorite restaurants, wine bars, lounges,  happy hour spots, coffee shops, late night hangouts and live music spots. It is really fun to experience the things you love with people you love. I love hosting in our city.

Mojitos  & Syrah

Happy Hour just went on.......and on.........and on...........and on !

Crab Crostini with Avocado

Our most favorite thing to eat at our most favorite Tapas spot  Oporto.

Shrimp Pesto Flatbread

Another great dish at "our" spot. Or what's left of it. LOL I know I gained some pounds in just 4 days. There was no need to get on the scale.

Such beautiful Roses.........just because :)

Fresh Flowers

I love Springtime Flowers. The colors just pop.  I got these at Kroger for the breakfast table in the kitchen.

Stepping Out

Getting ready to run the streets in downtown Houston.

Mr.Mixologist & family

There was a long running very popular club in Houston called the Sky Bar that closed a couple of years ago. The owner has reopened a brand new spot downtown called Scott Gertner's at Houston Pavilions and it is really, really nice ! The live entertainment is always on point and our family from ATL was very impressed. If you are ever in Houston you should check it out. We really enjoyed ourselves.

The drinks were very good AND we had a great table near the stage and the dance floor. It was a great night!

Me & Sis getting it in .....Wobble Baby......Wobble Baby.....!

Of course we had to hit the floor for the latest line dance. I don't remember which one we were doing at this point, because that Vodka & Pineapple was on my $%@ by this point!

Sunday Brunch was great at Macondo Bistro. After bottomless Mimosas & awesome food we reluctantly dropped the family off at the airport. We truly wished they had stayed at least one more day. It was a wonderful extended weekend. We are both so looking forward to the next visit.

What have you been up to lately ?

Thoughts ? Comments ?  Questions ?

They closed the SkyBar! I liked the live music on Saturdays, hated that folks could smoke so I didn't go often.

Looks like you really showed your future inlaws a great time. I gained a few lbs just looking at the pictures, LOL

@Tazzee
I know it was a Houston institution. But I promise you would love the new spot ! I don't think they allow smoking inside. They are finishing up a roof top patio, so the smokers & cigar aficionados can have that area.
