I swear I need just one weekend to just tackle all the things I need to do around this house. I have several closets that are in dire need of organization and it is starting to drive me crazy. It is starting to hamper my productivity. Then there is the garage, the bane of my existence. I am saving that for last ! It is just so much more fun to put socializing ahead of household tasks LOL
The next few weeks are going to be a blur. Mr.Miologist's brother is coming to town this weekend. Next weekend we hit the road for the party for my parents Anniversary, and then we leave on the 19th to head to Florida for a week. The month of August is pretty much done.
I hate that I have to work like a slave at work, just to prepare to be gone for a week. Morale at work is still pretty bad, since everyone is still in so much limbo about relocation. I still have no idea where I may be working or living in a year & it just feels like I am in a holding pattern. I am trying to keep my attitude in check, because it could be much worse I know. With that thought. Thank you Lord for provision.
What is it with my people and RSVP ? I just do not understand. With technology today you can reply yes or no in seconds. My sister and I are trying to do something very nice for our parents Anniversary and people just act like they are clueless. The RSVP deadline was August 1. We provided guests with the option to email, text or call with their response. Why do I have to start calling some people tonite so that I can have a final number for the venue by August 5 ? Every plate has to have a name. This is not a buffet style event. I called a couple of my cousin's today. There response, "Of course I am coming" WTH When were you going to let me know?
I am totally getting into this Pinterest thing. It definitely makes surfing the internet a lot more interesting. It's not like I needed another social networking site, and it is definitely addicting. I am glad one of my fellow bloggers sent me an invite. Let me know if you want one, but don't blame me when you spend hours on there, when you should be doing something else LOL.
I have two family members in particular an Aunt and a Cousin who always go out of their way to help me. I am so appreciative of them. Even though they are miles away, when I call them and need something, they make it happen. I can't wait to reciprocate.
Looking at photo albums & pulling photos in preparation for my parents party has brought back so many happy memories. I am a photo fanatic. The family historian if you will. I am the one who always has the camera at family functions. Many people like to duck & dodge the camera, but years later, everyone is happy that so many memories have been captured. I love my family.
Social media and media in general can really wear you out on certain issues. There are so many things, I could be totally happy never hearing about again in life, but at the same time, the access to information we have is sometimes amazing to me. Almost anything you want to know is at your fingertips.
What's going on in your world ?

I am amazed at the lack of consideration for RSVPs. Folks are gonna be upset when we send out our wedding invitations b/c a RSVP is required. End of story. Where is the courtesy?
Pinterest.....tempting........lol.
@sayitlikethis
It just adds unnecessary stress when there are other aspects of the planning that you need to focus on. Hold the line on the RSVPs.People need to learn.LOL
I feel the same way about RSVP's sometimes it makes me NEVER want to throw a party just because of the way people have NO regard for the simple click to respond. UGH! Oh, what about when they rsvp YES and then, don't show up or call. LEt's not even talk about it! UGH!!
@Tanyetta
Such a lack of consideration for sure. RSVP's who "no show" will be taken off future guest lists.
Don't get me started on RSVPs!!!!!! Until people plan a wedding or a large event that costs $$$$$, I swear they just don't get it! I am sorry you are having so much trouble with folks. It's always family that is the worst!
@TIH
Yes, I remember this discussion last year when you were planning your wedding. Ugggh !
RSVP's are truly annoying! As an event planner, it pains me daily. And having to follow behind grown, professional people to find out if they are coming to something??? ERH!!! I will admit that in my personal life, I am very bad at updating my evite response from maybe to a yes or no. **slapping my hand to do better** But only if it's at someone's home and not a venue. Enjoy your whirlwind month!
@MrsTDJ
Exactly, going to the effort of mailing an invitation for an event at a venue is alot different than sending an Evite to you email address !

Your randoms seem a lot like mine. Boy, do I need to clean, organize and toss. Let's schedule that.
Even when you remember that you are throwing the party to mamke your parents happy, it's hard dealing those who do not RSVP. Don't call them if you don't have to. Just go with the confirmed count that you have with a 5% overage and call it a day.
Enjoy every minute of your full August!
@mamasez
That 5% sounds like a good benchmark.
